Since the launch of the Arrima system in July 2019, Quebec has carried out nine invitation exercises and thus invited 2,062 candidates to submit a request for a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ).
What is Arrima
Arrima was launched in 2018 to facilitate the management of the PRTQ candidate bank. It is a computerized Expression of Interest (EOI) system that replaced the paper-based system that followed the principle of first come, first served.
The Quebec DI framework deals with the bank of up-and-comers who need to get a Quebec Choice Testament (CSQ) - a declaration that is important to have the option to apply for permanent residence in the province through the PRTQ.
Candidates express their interest by creating a profile in Arrima, which is then placed in the pool of candidates and classified according to a score or specific selection criteria.
Subsequently, the Quebec Department of Immigration issues CSQs based on the scores received by the candidates as well as other factors such as labor needs in the rural regions of the province.
Applicants who receive a CSQ can then submit an application for permanent residence to the Department of Immigration Canada, which examines the medical and criminal history to confirm their eligibility.
